Business Management for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (Bachelor of Arts)

The Bachelor of Arts Degree at Aalen University of Applied Science is a widely defined and practice-oriented education with an excellent ranking Germany-wide. Prof. Dr. Ralf Härting, Vice Dean of the Bachelor Program `Business Management for Small and Medium Enterprises´, is teaching Company Organization, Information Systems and E-Commerce / New Media.

Study subjects in the field of Information Systems in the Bachelor Program include:

  • Introduction to Computing (1st Semester)
  • Business Computer Science (3rd Semester)
  • The lecture Internal Information Management (4th Semester) is divided into two parts:
    E-Business and Business Software

Learning Objectives / Competences:

  1. Professional Competence:
    This lecture is intended to provide insight into the operational application possibilities of E-Business.  Participants learn the basics of Business Software and their importance for small and medium sized enterprises.
  2. Methodological Competence:
    This lecture covers the current and changing state of social media and discusses how they can be applied in project work. Students work on projects to obtain insight into internal application possibilities for selected computerized information systems.
  3. Social Competence:
    This lecture allows the participants to understand special IT-problems of small and medium sized Enterprises and to expand their teamwork presentation skills and problem-solving abilities.
