SME Management (Master of Arts)

Our consecutive Master of Arts programme ‘SME Management’ enables graduates of economics bachelor programmes with above-average degrees to specialise in the fields of Small Business Management, Business Informatics and International Marketing and Sales.

The SME Management programme qualifies graduates for management and leadership functions in small businesses and for the successful implementation of own business ideas. Special emphasis is placed on innovation management and guaranteed lasting success.

We provide state-of-the-art, practical management methods and cross-cutting skills which you can extend in the wake of many regional and international collaborations, case studies and practice-oriented projects. The curriculum stands out thanks to a vast set of options available for students.

Commencing this study programme is only possible in the winter semester of each year.

The essential programme language is German. A few modules, lectures or parts of lectures may be given in English.

Job experience is helpful but not compelling, on account of the consecutive arrangement of the Master programme. It is a 3-semester full-time programme. In the third semester, students write their theses solving practical problems of company leadership by applying scientific methods.

Degree after master thesis:

Master of Arts (M. A.)

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor or comparable/higher degree in a related programme, such as Business Informatics or Economics
  • Above-average degree (grade 2.5 or better)
  • University degree with 210 ECTS or higher, or at least 180 ECTS (with 30 ECTS having to be acquired during the Master studies)
  • Very good German language skills
