CyberWuP
Cyber Security for SMEs
The CyberWuP research project at Aalen University is dedicated to improving cyber security in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), originally limited to companies in the East Württemberg region. It is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior, Digitalisation and Municipalities as part of its digitalisation strategy, as well as by Aalen University itself.
Despite numerous materials and initiatives, many SMEs, especially micro and small enterprises, are inadequately equipped in the area of cybersecurity. The CyberWuP research project aims to improve this situation by, among other things, developing a simplified action plan based on existing guidelines and recommendations. This plan clearly outlines the most important security measures for SMEs in order to motivate companies to take a more intensive approach to cybersecurity and thus reduce the risk of cyber attacks.
The following objectives will be pursued over a period of three years:
Goals
- Improving awareness of cyber security
- Motivation to implement security measures
- Increasing cyber resilience
- Focus on feasibility and sustainability
Sub-Goals
- Involvement of multipliers
- Development of a low-threshold action plan
- Provide information about common cyber attacks and their risks
- Creation of a catalogue of basic measures
- Development of a tool for initial assessment of the safety level
