Small Business Management (Master of Arts)

Our consecutive Master of Arts program in “SME Management” offers exceptionally qualified graduates of economics bachelor's programs a specialist qualification in a range of subjects, such as SME management, business informatics, and international marketing and sales.

The “SME Management” degree program qualifies graduates for management and leadership roles in small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as for the successful implementation of their own business ideas. Particular emphasis is placed on innovation management and ensuring sustainable success.

We provide you with high-level, state-of-the-art, practice-oriented management methods and cross-disciplinary skills that you can expand through a variety of regional and international collaborations, case studies, and practical projects. The curriculum is characterized by a high degree of freedom of choice for students.

Enrolment in this study programme is only possible in the winter semester of each year.

Individual modules, courses, or parts of courses may be held in English.

Professional experience is helpful, but not essential due to the consecutive structure of the master's program. The master's program in SME Management is a full-time program lasting three semesters. In the third semester, students write their master's thesis, in which they solve practical problems in business management using scientific methods.

  • Above-average degree (minimum grade of 2.5)
  • University degree with at least 210 ECTS or at least 180 ECTS (30 ECTS must be earned during the master's program)
